Last summer I attended a Close Combat Training seminar. In these fascinating hours my instructor used an expression «Hesitation causes defeat». I was astonished by this simple expression and suddenly my mind started to think how this can be used in decision making process.
There is a saying in decision making process «paralysis by analysis» which describes an individual or group process when over analyzing or overthinking a situation can cause forward motion or decision-making to become «paralyzed», meaning that no solution or course of action is decided upon.
According to General Colin L. Powell, USA (Retired) always have in mind the 70% rule; You should be able to select 70% of valuable information so you can take an efficient decision. In order to take an efficient decision for you, is to calculate your Personal axiology together with Intrinsic – Extrinsic and Systemic Values of things.
Now, after all this reading combine all these and think: Should I overthink and hesitate? Or must I decide and act?
Remember, Hesitation causes defeat!
