In his interview in the “Strategy & Business” magazine, Daniel Yankelovich stated that “only 20 per cent of the employees surveyed are giving their very best to their jobs”. This is the result of ineffective leadership in many of today’s organisations. Most of the leaders interpret external reality according to their own perspective, and they often fail to attain their goals. It is worth mentioning that when leaders stay in a position of authority for too long they tend to shape negative habits, such as pretentious self-importance (megalomania), unrealistic goal-setting, reality avoidance and loss of moral barriers.
