According to E. P. Papanoutsos, a citizen is essentially a free individual; and a free individual is one who claims freedom in every single moment in life. Personal freedom is only achieved through intense inner struggle. Heroism and courage lie in the inner self, and they are vital in the struggle against ignorance, prejudice, delusions and anything else impeding growth and self-realisation. “Only a free individual can be morally autonomous.” In other words, individuals who aspire to improve in a personal or professional level must try to release themselves from inner delusions, demystifying people and situations.

Stop admiring people for their position per se. Think whether they would be the same without that authority and reconsider your attitude accordingly
